Latest News from Wormhole
October 2004 We at Wormhole are hoping to publish Steve Rasnic Tem's The World Recalled in time to debut at the 2004 World Fantasy Convention, to be held the weekend of Halloween in Phoenix. This brand-new piece of distinctive fantasy fiction by the award-winning Tem promises to be one of our most visually distinctive chapbooks. His previous Wormhole title, In These Final Days of Sales, won a Bram Stoker Award from the Horror Writers Association. The author has already completed a portfolio of astonishing art pieces, including a full-color cover, two full page color interiors, and four black-and-white spot illustrations. Tem has captured the out-of-this-world tone of his prose by taking inspiration from the visual styles of W.W. Denslow, the turn-of-the-century illustrator of L. Frank Baum's original Wizard of Oz books, and the free-wheeling whimsy of Jingle Jangle Comics mastermind, George Carlson. Between his words and pictures, Steve Tem has created a masterwork.
Production manager Thomas Meek has recently completed the painstaking hand-sewing of our initial run of hardbacks of our new title from Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson, Dune: Hunting Harkonnens. The books are presently at our bindery and should be ready for shipment October 1.
We'll shortly be completing pre-production of Edward Bryant's time-travel saga, The Fire That Scours, and embarking on preparing both Melanie Tem's controversial psychological thriller, Tells, and The Cellophane Heart, the new collection from Dawn Dunn.
Wormhole is proud to be adding our last six limited edition holiday cards to our on-line inventory. These collectible Christmas and Independence Day cards are signed, numbered, and include original short-short stories by a variety of fabulous writers. Primarily intended as thank-you gifts for our loyal readers and retail sellers, we've also wanted to make them available, for a small fee, to any other interested parties. They can be found, along with our literary bookmarks and book plates, on our gift items page.
Finally, Joanna Erbach, Wormhole's art director, has been wrapping up the final touches on our spectacular new company website. Our new website is slimmed down, elegant, and much more efficient than our previous site. We will keep it updated with a regular news page, current information about our titles, and a selection of useful features including author interviews and a literary calendar. Keep checking www.wormholebook.com for news of our grand opening c elebration! |
